TONI AL

Born in 1972 in Central Java, Toni graduated from the Department of Art at UNS Surakarta.

Toni AL’s paintings are of amazing simplicity, which is achieved through the use of simple brushstrokes to illustrate the beauty of minimalism. His paintings are inspired by the Japanese concept of Zen.

“Sometimes as painting can be done in only one setting, a few seconds only. However, a painting can take several days, weeks or even several months to be done. What we are looking for in painting is the crystal light in the ocean of sense. That is where The Light of The God is. But our existence will not always be there. What I believe is: beauty is always connected to honesty, clarity, depth and simplicity. Beauty is born when life is connected to The Almighty One. That is where true love is.”
